Narae, features the best in Korean cultural dance and music in the Pacific Northwest. Translated into English as “Wings,” Narae is symbolic of Morning Star “spreading our wings” over the community in a cultural embrace. This year, Narae will be held on September 18, 2016, in the Susan Brotman Auditorium at McCaw Hall.
Narae has truly become an anticipated cultural showcase where guests enjoy dynamic performances accompanied by a variety of drums, gongs, zithers, flutes and cymbals. The colorful display of costumes, stage setting and decor compliment the artists’ talent and award-winning original choreography. In addition to the repertoire, highly acclaimed performers are invited to participate. For this year’s production, Morning Star has created a revolutionary project that will bring to life an old traditional folktale through dance and music.
